East Sussex division is divided into five districts which are co-terminous with local authority boundaries. Wealden district covers 326 square miles and has a population of approximately 140 thousand. The area is largely rural with four towns of Hailsham, Heathfield, Uckfield and Crowborough. Local policing is made up of a Neighbourhood response team, a neighbourhood policing team and a CID which are located across the area. I am responsible for this team and for delivering crime reductions and detections against set targets around burglary, vehicle crime and violent crime. I also work closely with partner agencies through the Safer Wealden Partnership to achieve this. Wealden remains a very safe place to live and work and has seen some of the biggest reductions in crime in the county.
